3 days in November: Celebrating the Safety Standdown tradition
As I write this, the business aviation industry is set to descend upon Wichita, KS, for Bombardier’s 27th annual Safety Standdown.
This year, the can’t-miss safety conference will explore the theme of “Integrity in Safety” – doing the right thing even when no one is looking. The agenda will feature unique learning opportunities, dynamic workshops and compelling presentations by renowned aviation safety leaders.
Set for Nov. 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita, Safety Standdown will unite hundreds of flight crew members, maintenance technicians, flight dispatchers, schedulers and aviation students in the common pursuit of safety – no matter which aircraft they fly. The cost to participate is free, but the value of three days of concentrated learning is priceless!
Aviation professionals will leave Safety Standdown 2023 with deployable strategies designed to help their organizations reach new heights in safety. The bedrock of this event is based upon three key principles: Learn, Apply, Share. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of conference learning opportunities, find ways to apply these principles in their daily work, and share their newfound knowledge with aviation colleagues.
And, while registration for this year’s event is now closed, you can still visit the event website to watch live online presentations.
I am proud to represent the quintessential safety conference in aviation today – a tradition that has continued for nearly three decades. Since Safety Standdown was launched, more than 10,000 aviation professionals have participated worldwide, either at live events or through webcasts.
No matter where you work or what aircraft you fly, I invite you to commit to elevating safety in business aviation. The industry we all love will be even better with our collective focus on “Integrity in Safety.”
