A bright new idea for exterior aircraft lighting

At Bombardier, we are always looking for innovative ways to illuminate your aircraft ownership experience. That’s why our Aftermarket Services team is excited to announce the availability of brighter and more efficient exterior light bulbs for your Global, Challenger or (coming soon) Learjet aircraft. 

Our new LED exterior light bulbs are plug-and-play replacements, which means they can be installed at your favourite Bombardier Service Centre during your next scheduled or unscheduled maintenance visit. Each bulb can be installed in one hour or less. 

Just like in your home, LED bulbs deliver more reliable performance and brighter lighting than older halogen and incandescent options. They are more efficient, too, delivering up to 60 percent savings over the life of your aircraft!  

Brighter light means increased safety in the sky and on the ground, with greater illumination in key areas such as the nose gear, passenger door, over-wing exits, wing inspection points, engine pylons, logos and wing tip/taxi lights.   

Exterior LED bulbs are now available for Global 5000/6000, Challenger 604/605/650, and Challenger 300 series aircraft. Bulbs are expected to be available for Learjet 45/75 jets by the fourth quarter of 2023. 

To book your installation, contact your Bombardier Regional Sales Manager and add the lights to your next maintenance visit – or ask them to ship the light set for installation at your own facility. You can also ask your Authorized Service Facility to obtain the lights from a Bombardier Service Centre.  

LED bulbs will be available through Bombardier Spare Parts Sales by the third quarter of 2023.
