Bombardier furthers aftermarket expansion during MEBAA show announcement
Located at Abu Dhabi International Airport, the new service centre will be an important hub for Bombardier customers in the Middle East, further underscoring the company’s commitment to expand its global aftermarket footprint. At nearly 100,000 square feet, the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility will deliver a full suite of services to Bombardier’s family of business jets.
“The Middle East is an important market for Bombardier with more than 150 aircraft, and we are pleased to be establishing a highly efficient facility in the UAE for our customers in the market – and for those visiting from around the world,” said Éric Martel, President and CEO, Bombardier.
“Abu Dhabi is a dynamic financial hub for business and commerce in the UAE, and this service facility will provide significant benefits, quick aircraft turnarounds, and OEM peace of mind to our growing customer base. We are also thrilled to be providing new, high-paying aerospace jobs in the community.”
Bombardier’s announcement was timed to coincide with the 9th annual MEBAA show, running from Dec. 6-8 in Dubai. More than 1,500 attendees represented 95 countries at the show, which featured an aircraft static display, chalet and newly redesigned immersive show floor. Presentations focused on key business aviation issues, including digitalization and innovation, environmental sustainability and new industry trends.
The show is an important annual event on the Bombardier calendar. It allows the company to connect with customers and suppliers in the Middle East and North Africa region, where business aviation and private jet activity has been rising significantly in recent years.
