Bombardier’s worldwide Service Centre enhancements progressing well

New and improved Singapore Service Centre

Bombardier continues to make significant progress on its global worldwide service centre expansion projects. These new expansions in Miami, Singapore, London Biggin Hill Airport and Melbourne – coupled with the addition of Bombardier’s recently acquired service facility in Berlin – will expand Bombardier’s customer service footprint to more than three (3) million sq. ft.

Bombardier customers in the Asia-Pacific region will be the first to benefit from these growth initiatives as the first phase of the extensive Singapore Service Centre expansion is rapidly coming to fruition. The new, approximately 160,000 sq. ft (14,700 sq. m) E1A hangar/maintenance facility is expected to be ready to usher in customers by fall 2021. The expanded facility will include a state-of-the-art paint facility designed specifically for business aircraft. It is expected to be fully operational by early next year.

Customers in the Asia-Pacific region will also benefit from the establishment of a new service facility in Melbourne, Australia. Announced in October last year, this approximately 50,000 sq. ft. facility located at the Essendon Fields Airport is a key building block for Bombardier’s footprint in the region. The facility, to be fully operational in the first half of 2022, will provide customers with critical maintenance, repair and overhaul on all Bombardier business aircraft, and will include a parts depot.

In Europe, the expansion of London’s Biggin Hill Service Centre continues to exceed expectations, with the construction of the new, larger facility (close to 250,000 sq. ft. or approximately 23,225 sq. m.) to replace its existing hangars. The facility will provide the space and flexibility to offer a full range of maintenance and refurbishment services on Bombardier’s vast portfolio of products and has the capacity to accommodate as many as 14 Global 7500 aircraft at the same time. The expansion will introduce sought-after capabilities and state-of-the-art installations including component painting and interior refurbishment capabilities, component repair and overhaul workshops and training rooms.

Bombardier’s aftermarket footprint in the U.S. is also growing with the development of its newest service facility at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. This new “super” service centre, to be operational in the second half of 2022, promises to be a boon to customers in our vibrant U.S. and Latin American markets. Approximately 300,000 sq. ft. in size, the service centre will be equipped to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, avionics installations, AOG Support, and more.

These and other important aftermarket initiatives continue to underscore Bombardier’s enhanced investment in aftermarket infrastructure, new technologies, resources and capabilities to drive value for customers and their aircraft.
