Bring your Learjet home to Wichita, where the legacy began in 1963

Around the world, more than 2,000 Learjet aircraft take flight every day.

They perform all kinds of important missions, from medevacs to organ transfers to critical business transports.

Since 1990, Bombardier has been proud to support this iconic business jet family. Our team works hard to deliver the ultimate customer experience to Learjet owners and operators – including a full range of aircraft maintenance services, parts, engineering and technical publications.

Bombardier invites you to bring your Learjet home for the very best OEM experience – and when we’re talking about “home” for Learjet, there’s no better place but our service centre in Wichita, KS!

Sixty years ago in 1963, the first Learjet took to the Kansas skies, and it has been the brand’s home base ever since. Today, Bombardier’s Wichita Service Centre offers a robust support structure for all Learjets

“Our organization can handle any maintenance request, from heavy inspections to smaller annual checks,” explained Jeff Gordon, Director of Learjet Strategy & Business Development in Wichita.

“Our team is industry-leading. Since the 1960s, they have accumulated the most in-depth knowledge from working on and repairing Learjet aircraft. We have employees with more than 50 years of active service still in the company daily, supporting the platform.”

The Wichita Service Centre offers total Learjet support services, from all levels of maintenance to avionics, heavy upgrades, engine support, exterior paint and interior refurbishment.

“We are heavily focused on avionics upgrades on the Learjet 45 and also Honeywell engine support for major parts inspections (MPIs) on the Learjet 45 through Learjet 75,” said Gordon.

When a jet comes to Wichita for service, the range of expertise for troubleshooting and diagnosis is unmatched. Of course, this translates into a faster return to service.

“The technicians are there right next to the engineering team that designed and developed the aircraft,” he pointed out.

“We have the knowledge and history and access to repair, troubleshoot and return a Learjet to service faster than any other organization in the world. The original engineer can be down on the floor in a matter of minutes. You don’t get that anywhere else.”

At Bombardier Wichita, the goal is 100 per cent customer satisfaction and it’s achieved through teamwork and total transparency.

“This is one solid family – from the technician to the customer service rep, to the general manager of the facility and to all of the engineering support,” said Gordon.

Celebrating 60 years of Learjet

Oct. 7, 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of Learjet’s first flight.

Bombardier is supporting a celebration hosted by the Classic Lear Jet Foundation (CLJF), a non-profit group that is now working to restore Classic Learjet serial number 23-003. The jet is housed at Bombardier’s Building 14 in Wichita, the former Learjet delivery centre, as the CLJF raises funds to complete its restoration.

“We hope to continue our support as they go to the next phase, which is restoration of the aircraft into a flying classroom to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities,” said Gordon.

The Classic Lear Jet Foundation will expose young people to business aviation’s roots, and he predicted it will be a powerful tool to spark the next generation of aviation careers.
