Calling all aviation safety stewards

For 28 years, Bombardier’s Safety Standdown has been working hard to elevate aviation safety. We’ve always believed that while safety is a team event, each individual player must bring their “A” game to the table – in this industry, we simply can’t afford anything less.

That’s why aviation professionals and stakeholders from across the globe are invited to participate in our free Bombardier Safety Standdown conference every November. For three days, we unite in person and online to share insights, strategies and best practices for safer operations – no matter what type of aircraft you fly.

This year, our event theme is “Elevate your Influence” – and by this, we mean that as each individual grows and improves their safety game, they have a golden opportunity to be an aviation safety steward. It’s incumbent upon all of us to learn new concepts, apply them in daily operations, and share our newfound knowledge with colleagues. Together, I know we’ll raise the safety bar!

In the same spirit of collaboration, I am thrilled to report that Bombardier recently concluded its second annual Flight Attendant Safety Summit at our company headquarters in Montreal. We welcomed 112 cabin crew professionals from five countries, including flight attendants, managers, directors, CEOs and pilots. Together, we discussed important topics like aviation food safety, enhancing crew member health, galley safety, and more. Check the Flight Attendant Safety Summit website for a recap of this year’s program and stay tuned for 2025 details to come!

Bombardier is extremely proud to play a leading role in advancing aviation safety – from the flight deck, the cabin, or on the ground. Safety is at the heart of everything we do and has always been the most important foundation, one of the key pillars of our identity.

I hope to see you in Wichita this fall for our 2024 Safety Standdown. Whether you attend in person or online, I encourage you to leverage your experience, your innovation and your enthusiasm to make our shared industry safer.

Sincerely,

Chris Milligan

VP, Pre-owned Aircraft Services & Flight Operations, Bombardier
