Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week – Red Oak style

(From left back row): Bryan Daniel, Chairman Texas Workforce Commission (TWC); Tony Curry, General Manager, Bombardier Red Oak facility; Rep. Brian Harrison, Texas State Representative (District 10); and John Kuznar, U.S. Department of Labor, joining the apprentices graduating from Bombardier’s BAAP program.

Bombardier has a number of key apprenticeship programs at our facilities throughout the U.S. and we were very proud to have celebrated National Apprenticeship Week from Nov. 15-21.

Prior to this special week, Bombardier honoured the graduates of its first cohort of apprentices in a gala event on Nov. 4 at its Red Oak, Texas facility in front of a Smooth Flex Wing manufactured for the flagship Global 7500 aircraft.

The ten apprentices that graduated from the program will be offered full-time employment at Bombardier’s Red Oak facility as an aircraft assembler or aerostructures apprentice to work on assembling the Global 7500 business jet’s advanced Smooth Flex Wing.

The two-year Department of Labor (DOL) accredited Bombardier Aerospace Apprenticeship Program (BAAP) was launched in December 2019. The program, offered in conjunction with the Texas State Technical College (TSTC), offers students the opportunity to enter the high-tech aerospace sector with no specific pre-requisites.
