Close up: Michael Creek, Senior Avionics Analyst, Global Aircraft Program
What is your most memorable customer experience?
All the customer experiences I’ve had are unique. Having said that, I enjoy discussing avionics upgrades with customers and flight department team members for flight deck modifications, connectivity and Cabin Management Systems (CMS). There are so many solutions available on the market. I try to do my best to help the customer navigate the options and make sound decisions that will be beneficial to both the aircraft and owner.
How are you focusing your efforts to better serve our customers?
The key is to stay on top of the latest technologies and share that information with customers so they can make informed decisions. There are a lot of connectivity and CMS options out there, and we need to be selective in the products we recommend. Reliability, supportability and longevity are all important elements in what we recommend to the customer, to ensure they get what they want and need.
What makes you proud to work at Bombardier?
In my previous life, I worked on Challengers and Globals at a third-party completion centre. I always appreciated the willingness of the Bombardier team to help wherever they could. Now that I’m on this side of the fence, I appreciate being part of a world-class team; it’s satisfying to be providing world-class assistance wherever I can. Plus, the Global just has an amazing ramp presence – to be part of the company that builds one of the most respected business jets in the world is truly an honour.
What is your favourite Bombardier aircraft or CX product and why?
I’d have to say the Global 6500. I understand the Global 7500/8000 is a clean sheet design and is the industry leader in all categories, but there is something to be said about the Global 6500. This aircraft represents the culmination of the lessons learned from the Global Express/XRS and Global 6000 programs, and is equally impressive in its own right. It’s also wonderful to know we just unveiled the Advanced Avionics Upgrade (AAU) for the Global 5000 GVFD, 6000, 5500 and 6500 aircraft, which brings the flight deck on the older Vision-equipped Globals up to the latest capabilities of the Global 5500/6500s rolling off the production line today.
