Enhanced London Biggin Hill Service Centre rapidly taking shape

Bombardier is significantly expanding and enhancing its worldwide aftermarket footprint, and I’m thrilled to announce that our London Biggin Hill Service Centre, one of our major expansion projects, is moving closer to completion. I recently toured the facility, and it’s impressive!

Located at the bustling Biggin Hill Airport not too far from downtown London, the maintenance facility at Biggin Hill is a true gem, providing operators with a full suite of tip-to-tail heavy maintenance capabilities and flexible, attentive customer service.

The expansion of this facility features more than 250,000 sq. ft. of gleaming new space, providing customers with sought-after maintenance amenities such as painting and interior refurbishment capabilities, component repair and overhaul (CR&O) workshops and training rooms. The site will also ensure a quick response to customers’ heavy structural and repair needs, and it will have the capacity to accommodate up to 14 Global 7500 aircraft at the same time.

As the only dedicated business aviation airport in London, Biggin Hill Airport is home to more than 70 aerospace companies across its campus with over 1,300 local jobs – and Bombardier is a key player in the mix. Bombardier has developed a successful partnership with the airport over many years, and has helped boost local employment and greatly increased supply chain activities.

We have also developed a comprehensive apprenticeship program at the London Biggin Hill Service Centre to train the advanced maintenance teams of tomorrow, establishing an essential pipeline leading to the creation of high-paying aerospace jobs in the community.

It’s all about providing customers with the service excellence they’ve come to expect from Bombardier. So, please come in and meet general manager Paul J. Thompson and the team – and join us when we pop the Champagne for the official unveiling later this year.
