Milestone achieved for FANS installations
Bombardier is proud to announce that it has completed 250 FANS (Future Air Navigation Systems) installations, reflecting the confidence that customers have in the Bombardier Service Centre network.
Bombardier is committed to providing the highest quality of service at all of its facilities. Installing FANS on your aircraft can provide many advantages, such as more direct routes and preferred airways/tracks crossing the Atlantic, as well as more streamlined flight level changes resulting in better range and fuel efficiency on the Challenger 604 aircraft.
FANS (Future Air Navigation Systems) avionics systems allow pilots and air traffic control to communicate directly via a direct data link transmission displayed on the Control Display Unit (CDU). FANS are an essential component of the FAA’s NextGen Data Comm program plan, which will allow the National Airspace System (NAS) to handle more traffic, reduce flight delays, route aircraft more efficiently, and improve safety while reducing operational costs for aircraft operators.
