New safety summit focused on enhancing safety practices for flight attendants
More than 60 commercial and business aviation flight attendants from Canada, the United States and Europe attended the full-day seminar, which provided these essential aviation professionals with invaluable professional development opportunities to enhance their practical and theoretical safety acumen.
“As our industry continues to grow rapidly, so must our training and standards,” noted Chris Milligan, Vice President Pre-Owned Aircraft and Flight Operations, Bombardier. “At Bombardier, we recognize the growing need for and importance of safety training for flight attendants. In aviation, flight attendants are critical for all aspects of a safe flight.”
The dynamic agenda at the event included several essential presentations, including the “The Role of the Cabin Crew in Aviation Safety” from Kathleen “Kathy” Fox, Chair of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada; “Cabin Safety Within the System” by Stacey Jackson, Accident Investigation from WJAMEC & and a senior pilot with WestJet; and “Cabin Member Security Awareness & Travel Safety” from John Cauthen, Security Director, Aviation & Maritime, MedAire. Daniel Limoges, Founder, President & CEO of Aero-Formatech, also shared a compelling presentation entitled “Emergency Cabin Safety Training.”
The event is just the latest safety seminar Bombardier has developed to help enhance safety standards throughout the aviation industry. For close to three decades, Bombardier’s Safety Standdown has set the standard in offering ongoing safety educational opportunities for aviation professionals. More than 10,000 corporate, commercial and military aviation professionals have attended Safety Standdown seminars worldwide over the years live and through webcast, including in Brazil, Canada, China, Mexico, Switzerland and the U.S.
This year’s Safety Standdown event takes place Nov. 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita, Kansas.
