Our gifts to you: 12 Bombardier Customer Experience milestones in 2022

Back in 1903, the Wright brothers gave us the gift of flight.

Now, 119 years later, Bombardier still believes flight is a gift. Our goal is to help you harness the power of flight to live better, work better and perform better.

To do that, we aim to deliver the very best customer experience in business aviation.

As we near the end of this year, there’s a lot to celebrate. We’ve implemented many programs, products and partnerships to make your Bombardier aircraft ownership experience even better.

Here are 12 incredible aftermarket experience milestones we shared with our customers in 2022:

  1. Smart Link Plus certified on Global 5000/6000 aircraft

Now certified by the FAA on Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft, Bombardier’s Smart Link Plus aircraft health monitoring system records crucial data and enables flight and maintenance personnel to quickly prioritize and proactively troubleshoot in-flight fault notifications. This resource is conveniently accessed through any personal electronic device, using Bombardier’s myMaintenance app. Smart Link Plus was previously certified for Challenger 300 and Challenger 350 aircraft. Global 7500 and Challenger 3500 aircraft come with the Smart Link Plus box pre-installed.

  2. Bombardier Mobile Response Teams rolled out to major events

This year, our Mobile Response Teams (MRTs) provided onsite Bombardier customer support at the 56th Super Bowl in Los Angeles in February, Milan Fashion Week in September, and the World Cup in Qatar in November. We’ll continue to dispatch our MRTs around the world, wherever customers need them most.

  3. Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization founded

CAMO – or the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization – is an accessible maintenance management solution that ensures your aircraft is always in compliance with airworthiness standards and safe operating conditions. Learn about and schedule equipment upgrades, with direct links to OEM experts.

  4. Full Throttle blog debuts

In March 2022, Bombardier rolled out Full Throttle, a brand-new blog designed to connect our customers to the latest product news, maintenance advisories and tips, and OEM announcements. Stay informed by signing up here to receive our monthly emails.

  5. Wichita named U.S. headquarters, site of Bombardier Defense

In April, Bombardier announced an expansion of its Wichita service and flight test/certification centre to provide additional support to Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets. The facility is now the company’s U.S. headquarters and home to Bombardier Defense, the division focused on special mission modifications.

  6. Expansions galore: Aftermarket support grows by leaps and bounds

2022 was an exceptional year for Bombardier, with new and expanded service centres coming online to enhance our customer experience. This year, we expanded our Le Bourget Line Maintenance Station in Paris; significantly enhanced our Singapore Service Centre footprint; opened a brand-new facility in Melbourne, Australia; quadrupled our Florida presence with a sparkling new service centre in Miami; and grew our London Biggin Hill Service Centre into the U.K.’s largest business jet maintenance facility! Plus, we expanded our Customer Response Centre by adding a team in Singapore to guarantee faster responses across all time zones. It's all part of our commitment to grow and improve Bombardier’s extensive aftermarket services network.

  7. Challenger 3500 Environmental Product Declaration released

In May, Bombardier’s Challenger 3500 became the first super midsize business jet to obtain an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This is a complete, cradle-to-grave analysis of the jet’s environmental impact, and a valuable resource for customers who are concerned about sustainability. The EPD outlines the Challenger 3500’s design, development and production processes. This EPD follows Bombardier’s pioneering work in publishing an EPD for its Global 7500 – the first business jet ever to obtain one.

  8. Global 8000 unveiled at EBACE 2022

Also in May, Bombardier introduced the business aviation industry to its Global 8000, the flagship jet for a new era. Capable of flying at Mach 0.94 and with a range of 8,000 nautical miles, the Global 8000 offers four spacious, personalized suites to maximize productivity and performance. Bombardier also announced that Global 7500 customers will be eligible to retrofit their aircraft after the Global 8000 enters service in 2025.

  9. Bombardier turns 80

In 2022, Bombardier celebrated its rich and accomplished history, paying homage to our founder, Joseph-Armand Bombardier. Today, we are proud to continue that impressive legacy. In the past year alone, we have launched new products, won awards, expanded our service network, and achieved big improvements in sustainability.

  10. Bombardier to cut its flight operations emissions by 25%

Thanks to a new agreement with Signature Aviation, Bombardier will purchase enough sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to cover its flight operations activity, beginning in January 2023. The multi-year agreement will see the fuel purchased through the book-and-claim system. This means Bombardier will pay for SAF that will be used in the tanks of an aircraft located near a SAF production site. In exchange, Bombardier will claim the associated greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction credits. In total, this initiative will reduce the annual GHG emissions associated with Bombardier flight operations by 25 per cent.

  11. Certified Pre-Owned program celebrates first anniversary

Bombardier’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program connects buyers with the best pre-owned aircraft, removing the guesswork from their purchase. In a market where wait times for new aircraft are increasing, the CPO program presents an attractive alternative – especially with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty included and worry-free operational support during the first year!

  12. Spacious Executive cabin introduced for Global 7500 and Global 8000

This fall, Bombardier announced an exciting new cabin configuration for its flagship aircraft, the Global 8000 and Global 7500. The Executive cabin option features three 12-foot-long workspaces to maximize collaboration, productivity and networking. The layout allows owners to transform their aircraft into the ultimate business tool, with thoughtful elements such as the Soleil circadian-based lighting system, revolutionary cabin management system and an available 4K monitor.

There you have it: 12 great accomplishments in 2022 that make the Bombardier customer experience better than ever. Of course, we also returned to in-person events this year, including our popular Safety Talks, regional Maintenance & Operations conferences, and our 26th annual Safety Standdown in Wichita.

We can’t wait to share what’s in store for 2023!
