Red Oak apprenticeship program continues to build momentum

The Texas Workforce Solutions held a special event on March 29 to highlight new developmental workforce initiatives in the state of Texas, in addition to Bombardier's successful apprenticeship program at its Red Oak site.

Bombardier’s Red Oak General Manager Tony Curry was one of the key panelists at the event, sharing the dynamics of the innovative Bombardier Aviation Apprenticeship Program (BAAP) initiative, showcasing it as the training model for the future.

Established in December 2019, in association with the Texas State Technical College (TSTC), the initiative is designed to develop local talent, drive regional aerospace growth, and provide support for the manufacture of the Smooth Flex Wing for the Global 7500 aircraft at Bombardier's Red Oak facility. To date, some 114 candidates have graduated from the program and are now working at the Red Oak site.

Texas Workforce Solutions shared an engaging video during their presentation that chronicles the development of Bombardier’s groundbreaking program.

The BAAP initiative has created ironclad partnerships with local, state, and federal level government bodies in the Red Oak region, while bringing world-class training opportunities and cementing Bombardier into the community.

Current apprentice of the year, Elsa Hickok, demonstrates some of her new skills.
