Bombardier calls for new Industry Steering Committee members

Effectivity: All Bombardier business aircraft

ATA: N/A

If you are passionate about ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in aircraft maintenance, Bombardier invites you to lend your expertise to one of our Industry Steering Committees (ISCs).

At Bombardier, we recognize the critical role that effective maintenance plays in keeping aircraft operational, and we understand the complex challenges faced by the MRO industry. From regulatory compliance to technological advancements, the landscape of aircraft maintenance is constantly evolving.

Bombardier has ISCs for the Challenger 300 series, the Challenger 600 series, the Global series and for the Global 7500 aircraft. These committees include dedicated maintenance professionals who continuously work on developing a safe, reliable, and economical scheduled maintenance program for a given aircraft type.  This forum provides selected maintenance professionals with an opportunity to improve the overall maintenance standards for the worldwide Bombardier fleet.

The role of Bombardier ISCs is to develop and update the maintenance review board report (MRBR) which contains the minimum maintenance and inspection requirements for a given aircraft. The ISCs meet annually or semi-annually to review and discuss the recommendations for changes to the MRBR, and either accepts or rejects them. The accepted recommendations are submitted to the maintenance review board (MRB) for approval. Once approved, the MRBR changes are distributed to all operators through revisions of the Time Limits/Maintenance Checks (TLMC) manual.

A critical number of ISC members and regular meetings are required to keep the process going. Without membership quorum or without periodic meetings, the corresponding MRBR could not be kept up to date.

Typically, ISC members are experienced operator representatives who reflect a cross-section of the fleet size and geographical distribution. They are expected to have working knowledge of the MSG-3 and MRBR approval process. They will also be expected to commit to attending one or two full-day meetings per year.

ISC member responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing the meeting material;

  • Attending the ISC meetings;

  • Actively participating in the ISC meetings;

  • Representing  operators from the same region, not just their own program requirements.

 Bombardier is seeking to recruit seasoned professionals for our ISCs – especially for the Challenger 300 and 600 series ISCs.

If you would like to contribute to  setting the direction and priorities of our aircraft maintenance discussions and inform us about maintenance-related topics that are most relevant and pressing to operators, please reach out to a standing member of one of the ISCs, the advisory committees themselves, or your Field Service Representative and ask for a referral.

Alternatively, you can also express your interest directly to Bombardier through its maintenance programs department at bacs_ca_mpp@aero.bombardier.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!
