As part of the 2400-hour/96-month inspection, IRN2730036 requires an eddy current inspection of the elevator bellcrank in the area of the cross-bolt attachment to the torque tube. Instructions for this inspection can be found in NDI manual Part 3, 27-30-01. Removal of the attach bolts (disassembly of the bellcrank and torque tube) is not required for this inspection if the newer style sleeve bolts are installed.

Any discrepancies found during eddy current inspection are to be dispositioned by Learjet Field Support Engineering only. This includes cracking, corrosion, or any other damage found common to the bellcrank, torque tube, or surrounding structure.

Elevator bellcrank and/or torque tube replacement can only be done by Component Repair and Overhaul (CR&O) at the Wichita Service Center. The bellcrank and torque tube must be replaced together. They are match drilled using original production tooling to ensure proper clocking of the assembly. This tool is located in the Wichita CR&O shop.

Contact the CRC (ac.ict@aero.bombardier.com) to submit damage findings to engineering. CR&O can be contacted at cro@aero.bombardier.com or 1-866-538-1247, Opt 3, Opt 4.
