Guidelines for completing the Foreign Shippers Declaration form

As per our Spare Parts & Component Repair Price Catalogue General Terms and Conditions, whenever a core is returned to Bombardier, a Material Return Authorization (MRA) must be completed and returned at the same time.

Please note that the completion of the Foreign Shippers Declaration (FSD) form, also known as the 9801 form, is also required by U.S. Customs in certain scenarios described below.

As of Oct. 2, 2023, the FSD form will now be incorporated into the MRA form. U.S. Customs requires a response to each of the following questions. If you answer “yes” to questions 1, 2 and 3 below, then the completion of the FSD form is mandatory.

1. Was the core exported from the U.S.? *
2. Has the core been returned without having been advanced or improved upon? **
3. Is the core being returned to a Bombardier facility in the U.S.?

* This information is available on the original invoice sent to you upon receipt of the core.
** A software upgrade is not considered an advance or improvement.

Once you have completed the MRA (including the FSD form) on the Bombardier Customer Portal, you will have 24 hours to provide the airway bill (AWB) number of the core returning to Bombardier.

Thank you for your cooperation.
