Inspect your Global 7500 aircraft RAM air door actuator during a convenient downtime

Effectivity: Global 7500 aircraft 70006 to 70070 (LHS and RHS), 70071 (LHS only)

ATA: 36

The RAM air door actuator, or RADA, on the Global 7500 aircraft is a DC motor-operated linear actuator that controls a door installed on the pylon. This door allows RAM air into the environmental control system pre-cooler exchanger (ECS-PCE).

The RADA is normally retracted, but it extends to open the RAM air door when the wing anti-ice is ON with a single bleed source, or when the auxiliary pressurization is in operation.

For Global 7500 aircraft 70006 to 70071, the rod of the actuator may be fitted with a safety cable that could potentially prevent the RAM air door from fully closing. This would result in the INFO message 21 AIR COND / PRESS - L (R) RAM AIR DOOR FAIL OPEN at power-up.

This condition is not dispatchable per the MMEL. To prevent the possibility of a delayed mission, it is suggested that technicians remove the ECS pre-cooler inlet assembly as per AMP BD700-A-J36-11-20-00AAA-520A-A, inspect the actuator, and replace any safety cable with lockwire during a convenient downtime.

If the safety cable needs to be removed, becareful not to loosen the nut and affect the rigging as per AMP BD700-A-J36-11-19-00AAA-275A-A.
