Bombardier would like to inform crews, maintenance personnel and operators that the Interior Grooming and Detailing Guide provided at delivery of the aircraft is now available on the Bombardier Customer Portal.

It is important for all personnel to carefully follow the instructions of the Bombardier Aviation Grooming Guide for cleaning and disinfection of the cabin onboard the various aircraft types.

The soft goods materials are delicate and only products illustrated in the grooming guide can be used for cleaning and preservation purposes.

Never use any corrosive or chlorine-based products to clean the surfaces. These products can cause corrosion and damage the surfaces. See examples below:

It is important to note that varnish, wood, laminates, fabrics, leather can be very sensitive to external contaminants. Plated parts are subject to corrosion when cleaned with chlorine products such as “wipes.”

An AW (Advisory Wire) AW7000-25-0001 (2019 Novel Coronavirus, COVID 19) was created to provide guidance on cabin disinfection during the pandemic.

The list of disinfectant products as stated in the AW does not constitute an endorsement by Bombardier. Although these types of disinfectant products have been effective in past applications, these products may have unintended effects on delicate materials used throughout the interior of business aircraft.

Care should be taken to not induce any damage through the application of these products. As stated in the AW, Bombardier recommends that these products are applied in accordance with the Bombardier Aviation Interior Grooming Guide and Avionics manufacturer recommendations and tested on inconspicuous areas of these soft goods material prior to widespread application throughout the aircraft interior.

While these procedures are offered in good faith, it is the operator’s responsibility to use all precaution necessary while grooming and disinfecting their aircraft. No responsibility will be accepted for claims arising from the procedures suggested in the AW.
