Some customers have reported that their Nuage seats seem to move on the seat tracks, giving the impression that they are not secure. After investigation, it was discovered that the seats were not properly moved and repositioned on the seat tracks.
Bombardier reminds operators, maintenance crew and flight attendants that the Nuage seat tracking mechanism is designed for only two positions: TTL and berthing. There is no in-between position.
When pushing the foot pedal down to berth the seat, the plunger is raised. This unlocks the seat and frees it to move in the seat track.
Users must then move the seat to the other end of the track, a distance of 8.3", until the plunger drops in the seat track locking hole.
If the plunger is not in the locking hole, the Nuage seat is not secured and it will move within the track.
The seat tracking mechanism used in the Global Express, XRS, 5000 and 6000 is different, and can be locked at each position of the track. Different operational procedures are the result of a different berthing mechanism. Please ensure you are familiar with the correct procedure for your aircraft.
If you have further questions about securing your seats, please contact your local Bombardier Field Service Representative (FSR) or the Customer Response Centre (CRC).
