Don’t forget to regularly maintain the B/E Aerospace/Collins Aerospace UCT single and double seats on your Global aircraft.

Although there are no supplemental maintenance tasks for these seats, regular maintenance improves reliability.

This article pertains to the following component maintenance manuals (CMMs), provided at delivery of the above-mentioned Global platforms:

  • B/E Aerospace CMM 25-20-72

  • B/E Aerospace CMM 25-20-73

UCT single and double seats are designed for frequent, easy removal and installation. The seats require minimal maintenance and no lubrication.

  • However, in order to improve reliability, the CMM recommends carrying out scheduled maintenance every 500 flight hours or annually. This includes: Inspect seat-to-aircraft fittings for security, and inspect restraint system attachments.

  • Check and clean external surfaces and upholstery if necessary.

  • Clean the tracking tubes per the recommendation in the CMM to maintain proper function on the tracking mechanism.

  • Adjust cables related to recline control, pin and plate mechanism, track and swivel mechanism, backrest/recline mechanism, and legrest mechanism as explained in the repair section of the CMM.

  • Inspect the retractable armrest for loose hardware and apply Loctite as required.
