Bombardier technicians compete with peers from around the world
Bombardier sent two talented maintenance teams to participate in the world’s largest maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) competition, the 2024 Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC) in Chicago, Illinois.
Held from April 9-11, the AMC was presented by Snap-on and took place on the exhibition floor at Aviation Week’s MRO Americas show. More than 90 teams competed in various categories. Bombardier delegations faced off against their peers from a wide range of organizations, including Pratt & Whitney, FedEx and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Challenges included tasks such as airframe damage inspection, cable rigging, fiber optics cabling, engine fan blade removal and more, with contestants judged on time to completion and accuracy.
Bombardier teams included technicians from company services centres in Hartford, Tucson, Wichita and Dallas.
“Our company culture of bringing your own strengths and passion to your projects creates character and great team bonding – their smiles say it all!” said Anna Baretincic, an intern who supported Bombardier’s participation in the AMC.
Next year, Bombardier aims to send an all-women team to compete in the 2025 AMC.
