Bombardier underscores commitment to China

Bombardier emphasized the importance of the Chinese market at a Nov. 30 networking reception hosted by the Quebec chapter of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC).

Speaking at the gathering, Bombardier’s Guerric Ranchon, Manager, Market Analytics and Insights, said China is important because it is the world’s second-largest economy and offers tremendous long-term growth potential for business and general aviation.

Ranchon added that Bombardier already has a strong footprint in China, including participation in an aircraft maintenance joint venture in Tianjin. Bombardier has also expanded its Singapore Service Centre to support visiting Chinese customers, and recently appointed Jianwei Zhang as Chairman, Bombardier China. In fact, Bombardier has the largest share of the business jet market in Asia-Pacific.

Ranchon concluded by saying both countries will benefit from continued collaboration.

Zhang Heng, then-Acting Consul General in Montreal, also spoke about the importance of cooperation between Canadian and Chinese companies.
