Bombardier’s third quarter Pre-owned Market Report points to a state of equilibrium

The pre-owned business jet market has normalized over the past several months and has now reached a more balanced state, according to Bombardier’s 11th Pre-owned Market Report, covering the third quarter of 2023.

The report tracks market activity – including asking prices, sale trends and days on the market, among other key indicators – for 11 types of Bombardier business jets.

With inventory levels approaching 7.1 per cent, market results for the third quarter were more balanced. On average, the inventory of Bombardier pre-owned jets increased by 21 per cent across all models compared to the previous quarter. However, while the number of aircraft for sale increased, so too did the number of sale transactions.

This resulted in a 46 per cent growth in total transactions compared to the second quarter of 2023.

Overall, increasing inventory and sales activity combined with decreasing prices, point to a more balanced market.

Bombardier anticipates a surge of activity for the fourth quarter of 2023 to close off the year.
