Bombardier’s Safety Standdown returns to Wichita to celebrate 25th anniversaryBombardier’s Safety Standdown returns to Wichita to celebrate 25th anniversary

Bombardier’s industry-defining thought-leadership conference, Safety Standdown 2021, is back and this year, it’s celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The event takes place Nov. 2-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita, KS. This year’s theme, “Learn, Apply, Share” in many ways harkens back to the event’s roots, building on the foundation created by the Bombardier Learjet team to enhance aviation safety throughout the industry. The event will prompt aviation professionals and various organizations to evaluate how they run their operations on multiple levels and determine how they can establish safer, more efficient safety realities – turning theory into practice.

For more than a quarter century, Bombardier has led the industry in providing aviation professionals with knowledge-based aviation training and this year’s event builds on this very important goal.

The focus of Standdown continues to build on establishing a community of aviation professionals who are committed to lifelong learning and to disseminating higher standards of safety and professionalism throughout the industry – it’s a focus that will be covered in depth with this year’s theme.

Some of Standdown’s most influential presenters from the past – including Dr. Tony Kern, Dr. Amy Grubb and Al Gorthy – are back to enlighten aviation professionals to look deeper into their existing safety processes and consider new ways to educate their teams of maintenance technicians, pilots, dispatchers, safety program managers, or accountable executives. Critical topics this year include how to create and sustain a more comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS); an in-depth look at Loss of Control-Inflight (LOC-I) mitigation strategies; runway excursion prevention; a holistic approach to aviation safety and much more.
