Bombardier’s U.S. service network supports job transition training for military veterans

Bombardier has been selected as an authorized industry partner for the U.S. Department of Defense SkillBridge program, which helps military veterans transition to new civilian work opportunities.

In-person maintenance training programs are now available at Bombardier’s network of business jet service centres across the United States and within Bombardier Defense. Military members may be eligible for industry-specific apprenticeships, internships or other training programs.

“As a SkillBridge industry partner, Bombardier will offer 60 to 90 day in-person job training programs for all eligible service members,” said Anthony Cox, Vice-President, Customer Support, Bombardier. “These employment skills programs will be offered at Bombardier Service Centres throughout the United States – in Wichita, Kansas; Dallas, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; Hartford, Connecticut; and Miami, Florida.”

“We are actively recruiting A&P mechanics at all our U.S. sites and look forward to adding SkillBridge trainees to our network of qualified professionals,” noted Cynthia Giguère, Senior Director, Workforce Planning and Talent Acquisition, Bombardier.

Through its involvement in SkillBridge, Bombardier continues to expand its footprint in the United States as well as its ongoing commitment to service members. Last year, the company’s Wichita location was designated its U.S. headquarters and home to Bombardier Defense, its specialized aircraft division.

“We look forward to working with the DOD to ensure the best possible outcome for its service members and help pave the way for their continued success as they return to civilian life,” said Steve Patrick, Vice-President, Bombardier Defense.
