Celebrating Bombardier’s 80th anniversary: Éric Martel’s perspective

This week, as we mark Bombardier’s 80th anniversary, I wanted to reach out to all of you to highlight our proud history, recognize your accomplishments and share what Bombardier means to me.

Ever since Joseph Armand Bombardier founded our company in 1942 in Valcourt, Québec, his proud entrepreneurial spirit has stayed with us. After creating a new mode of transportation with the invention of snowmobiles, Bombardier entered the railway business in 1970, and the aerospace sector in 1986. Over the years, our innovations have improved and shaped every single industry that we entered.  

Today, we continue to shape the world of transportation by designing, manufacturing and servicing the best business jets in the world. Our company has been through many changes, and I’m happy to say that we’re on a solid path, and our entrepreneurial spirit remains strong. Over the last few months alone, we’ve launched new products, won awards, significantly expanded our services and support footprint and made huge strides in sustainability.  

I feel extremely privileged to lead this company as we continue to innovate and raise the bar. I’m also very proud of the values that we prioritize – our commitment to our people and to our customers.
