Read on for this month’s customer question:

Question: How is Bombardier improving the parts availability and parts customer service to support Global 7500 aircraft operators?

Answer from Director, Material Logistics, Parts Services, Peter Karlovcec: Parts availability is a crucial pillar of our aftermarket services, and we are tackling it in several ways. Firstly, with direct investment; in 2022 we plan to spend an additional $35 million on new inventory to ensure our fleet is well serviced. Secondly, through vendor support, we will help to ensure availability of the parts you need with consignment inventory owned by our key suppliers available at Bombardier parts hubs. Also, through vendor governance, we hope to make our parts more readily available. This involves ensuring part repair turnaround times (TATs) are kept within acceptable levels, engaging senior leadership, and sending on-site Bombardier representatives to key suppliers. Another exciting improvement to our parts availability will be the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. AI has been integrated into our forecasting models to better predict parts usage trends which will allow our teams to react faster and anticipate customer needs.

Another improvement to our parts availability and customer service to support the Global 7500 aircraft programs is the integration of the Customer Response Center (CRC) with other supporting teams. Daily meetings will occur involving Parts, Tech Support, Field Service Representatives (FSRs), Engineering, Service Centres, Production, and Mobile Response Teams (MRTs) to keep all teams closely aligned and to ensure awareness of all aircraft on ground (AOG). With all teams closely linked, we are confident in our support capabilities getting faster by the day. Coordination will also be provided by the CRC AOG coordinators, ensuring seamless support.

We look forward to hearing what questions you have in store for our leadership team! For the chance to have your question answered in Gathering Place, please write to us here.
