Safety Standdown 2024 continues to ramp up: get involved!

For 27 years, Bombardier’s annual Safety Standdown (SSD) has been one of the aviation industry’s “must-attend” events.

For three days in November, more than 400 business aviation professionals will gather in Wichita, Kansas – with hundreds more tuning in via webcast – to focus on Safety Standdown’s guiding principles of “Learn, Apply, Share.” This year’s theme is “Elevate your Influence” providing an opportunity for aviation professionals to share insights, strategies and best practices to create a safer future for aviation worldwide.

The agenda includes informative seminars, thought-provoking workshops and unparalleled networking opportunities – completely free of charge to all aviation professionals, no matter which aircraft they fly. The goal of Bombardier’s Safety Standdown is simple: For attendees to learn new information that will advance industry safety; apply it in their daily work; and share their newfound knowledge with their peers.

There is one factor that is the key to realizing that goal: engagement.

David S. Ryan of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University was the recipient of the 2023 Safety Standdown Award, and he attributes this honour to his lifelong willingness to engage with industry colleagues.

Read more about the power of getting involved in Ryan’s recent article, “Safety Standdown and the Role of Engagement.”
