Lt. Governor Toland visits Bombardier’s Centre of Excellence in Wichita
Earlier this month, Bombardier’s Wichita site played host to Lieutenant Governor David Toland (D-Kansas). Toland is the third Kansan in U.S. history to uniquely hold two roles in government – Lt. Governor and Secretary of Commerce. This visit served as an important touchpoint to showcase the vibrancy of the site. Toland asked important questions pertaining to the company’s path forward and he commented on how pleased he was to hear about the progress. Our site leaders showcased the site’s growth as a Centre of Excellence, including the service centre and specialized aircraft divisions:
Expansion into additional hangars
Launch of the Learjet RACER program
Announcement of the Wichita site as a Centre of Excellence
Agreement between Bombardier’s Learjet Inc. subsidiary and the U.S. Air Force in support of the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) program
Toland also chatted with several interns at the site and asked about their aspirations and reinforced the confidence he had in the aerospace industry. Shortly after leaving Bombardier’s facilities, Toland took to Twitter to express his gratitude for the visit.
