New Bombardier Safety Standdown Advisory Council sets sights on new year

Coming off an impressive, 25th anniversary event in Wichita, KS in early November 2021, Bombardier's industry-defining safety event, Safety Standdown, is getting primed for a brand-new year.

Event organizers, council and Safety Standdown teams are already busy at work preparing for a new year, and that includes planning more Safety Talks and compiling topics and themes for this year's event. Stay tuned for upcoming dates and times.

A new year will also brings several new faces to the Advisory Council . This year's Council includes:

·         Amy Grubb, Ph.D. – FBI, Council Chair 2022. Amy is the first female to take the role and the first non-aviation Council Member since 2018

·         Melissa Cooper – Kansas City Aviation Department, Council Vice Chair. Melissa has been a Council Member since 2019 and will be Chair in 2023

Returning once again this year are:

·         Étienne Côté – Bombardier pilot

·         Marty Grier – The Home Depot

·         Mark Larsen – NBAA

·         Michael Ott – Phoenix Air

·         Chris Sweeney – Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

Our newest members for 2022 include:

·         Ron Renz – Alligator Inc. Ron has been involved in aviation for almost 50 years.

·         Andy Nureddin – Bombardier Fleet Leader, Global 7500. Andy grew up around airplanes and soloed at age 16!

·         Cory Flatoff – Pentastar. Cory has a wide range of experience spanning 28 years in professional aviation with multiple type ratings.

·         Nick Verdea – The Williams Companies, Inc. Nick is the 2021 Bombardier Safety Standdown Award Winner and has been in business aviation for four decades.
