Developing the next generation of service technicians

At Bombardier, we’re constantly evaluating every aspect of our aftermarket business to ensure you consistently receive an outstanding customer experience, no matter where you are in the world. It’s a commitment that defines everything we do, and it starts with our people – the more than 1,200 service technicians throughout our service network who work tirelessly to ensure your aircraft is maintained with expert knowledge, skill, and experience.

To deliver on our commitment to our customers, we make sure to hire the very best talent to work at our facilities and on our aircraft fleet. We also work closely with recognized industry partners and the top technical and educational institutions to create critical knowledge streams and apprenticeship programs. At the recent NBAA Regional Forum in Miami-Opa Locka, for example, we were proud to highlight the first cohort of graduates from the Bombardier Academy (pictured above), a collaboration with The Flying Classroom in South Florida, as they successfully completed their in-depth training program.

This talented group includes recent college graduates, army veterans, and existing workforce technicians, all trained with a cutting-edge curriculum developed by Opa-Locka-based The Flying Classroom and in collaboration with Bombardier. The curriculum connects students with real-world aviation and STEM+ learning and is led by award-winning aviator and educational trainer, Captain Barrington Irving.

I have no doubt that many of these talented individuals will find their way into exciting, full-time aviation careers. I congratulate the graduates for their determination and perseverance, and I wish them an amazing journey in our exciting industry.

These grassroots initiatives are important to ensure our worldwide service facilities remain at the cutting edge in everything we do. To achieve this, we’re always looking to the future and with our customers’ best interest in mind as we continue to nurture and grow the next generation of aviation professionals.

Sincerely,

Jean-Christophe Gallagher
