Safety Standdown Safety Award nominations now open
It’s time to shine the spotlight on an aviation professional who goes above and beyond, every single day, to advance the cause of aviation safety.
Bombardier’s 27th annual Safety Standdown is set for Nov. 7-9, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas, and One of the biggest highlights of Bombardier’s annual Safety Standdown event is the presentation of the annual Safety Award! This honour recognizes exemplary work in aviation safety that upholds the three key Safety Standdown principles of “Learn, Apply, Share.”
Last year’s Safety Award was presented to Charlie Precourt, who has made significant and lifelong contributions to aviation safety, both military and civilian.
Precourt retired from a lengthy career at Northrop Grumman. Prior to that, he was a NASA chief astronaut and U.S. Air Force colonel who accumulated more than 11,000 hours of flight experience in 90 different aircraft types. He continues to give back to the industry through leadership roles with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).
Now, we’re looking for our 2023 award winner! Tell us about someone who is a tireless champion for aviation safety – someone who constantly strives to keep safe operations at the forefront of our collective consciousness.
The Safety Standdown Advisory Council will review all nominations, select one deserving candidate, and present the award during the 2023 Safety Standdown event – details to follow! Nov. 7-9, at the Wichita Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita, Kansas.
