Smart Link Plus box installs now available for Global 5000 with Vision Flight Deck and Global 6000 for customers

Bombardier’s revolutionary Smart Link Plus connected aircraft program is now available for Global 5000 with Vision Flight Deck and Global 6000 aircraft. Customers can start booking their installations now.

Key benefits of installing a Smart Link Plus box include: remotely accessing your flight-critical data, visualization at your fingertips, and data sharing with suppliers. Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft customers who subscribe to Smart Link Plus will also benefit from the Engine In-Flight Reporting (EIFR)** suite of services.

Operators with a Smart Link Plus box installed on their aircraft can subscribe to the Smart Link Plus service, which makes aircraft data more easily accessible. This enables flight and maintenance crews to quickly prioritize and proactively troubleshoot aircraft in-flight fault notifications, increasing an aircraft’s operational efficiency. Subscribers can also sign into the myMaintenance app to access their Smart Link Plus services on any personal electronic device.

The Smart Link Plus service continues to provide significant benefits for customers. Here’s what a Global 7500 aircraft operator had to say about the program:

“[Our] aircraft landed in St. Maarten […] and the crew experienced a NO GO issue on the airplane. Thanks to the remote access to the Smart Link Plus, the new system helped to get information of the event remotely. The Customer Response Centre assessed the data and confirmed that such issue was considered a nuisance event. Therefore, we could keep the normal operation without having the necessity of grounding the airplane. This saved significant time for the client, who was able to keep his intended flights. This also enabled them to avoid the cost of sending a team to a remote area in the Caribbean.”

Did you know? The Smart Link Plus box is free-of-charge* and the labour costs involved are minimal when combined with scheduled major inspections. The annual fee for a Smart Link Plus subscription is highly competitive for the time and cost savings it provides over the lifetime of an aircraft. Smart Link Plus has unexpected benefits too; several customers already noted its value in decreasing insurance costs and demonstrated non-technical benefits.

Bombardier’s Smart Link Plus program is an advanced aircraft health monitoring system capable of interpreting real-time flight systems data and generating alerts while an aircraft is in flight as well as on the ground. Access to this previously untapped data allows flight and maintenance crews to prioritize aircraft service needs and proactively dispatch, troubleshoot and track fixes, and substantially minimize costly aircraft downtime. Proactive alerts generated via Smart Link Plus enable Bombardier’s customer service network to speed up response times and resolve issues more effectively.

More than 97% of Global 7500 aircraft in service are equipped with the hardware and subscribed to Smart Link Plus services. The hardware has been recently certified for aftermarket installation on most of the company’s in-service Challenger and Global aircraft models and has been introduced as a baseline equipment in the new Challenger 3500 aircraft.
