The Honeywell Primus Elite® upgrade for Global Express, Global 5000 and Global XRS aircraft

A new Honeywell Primus Elite® avionics upgrade is now available for Bombardier Global Express, Global 5000 and Global XRS aircraft operators.

The avionics upgrade designed to enhance situational awareness and safety consists of “Enhanced Features*” and “Advanced Features” options, which can be incorporated simultaneously. Operators can alternatively select advanced features if their aircraft already includes the Enhanced Features option.

The cutting-edge LCD displays provided by the Honeywell DU-875 Primus Elite® Enhanced Features option replace the CRT cockpit displays with six state-of-the-art LCD displays. The upgrade takes advantage of future technologies currently available on newer aircraft for improved situational awareness.

Benefits include:

  • Jeppesen charts[1]

  • Moving Maps display capability[1]

  • Split screen and own ship position functionality

  • Enhanced graphical features

  • Up to 42 pounds of total weight savings

The Honeywell Synthetic Vision System (SVS) of the Honeywell DU-875 Primus Elite® Advanced features option includes the installation of a Synthetic Vision System (SVS). SVS is an advanced terrain mapping and visualization tool which assists flight crews in making necessary short-term decisions to enhance safety in all phases of flight. The installation of SVS can be performed in addition to the Enhanced Features upgrade or as a standalone upgrade. Key benefits include: advanced terrain mapping; reduced pilot workload; better and more accurate approaches; improved geographical situational awareness in low visibility conditions.
