Highlighting our new apprenticeship program at the London Biggin Hill Service Centre

CX Biggin Hill Service Centre Exterior

Continuing to develop talented workers at our worldwide service facilities is an essential part of Bombardier’s aftermarket growth strategy – and our new apprenticeship program at the London Biggin Hill Service Centre is a case in point.

This exciting new initiative is a collaboration between Bombardier and Seetec, a key provider of training and apprenticeships in the UK. The program is also supported by KLM UK Engineering Ltd and the UK Department for Education.

Sixteen men and women are currently taking part in the 36-month program’s first apprentice cohort, which kicked off in March. The in-depth training opportunity features a combination of virtual classroom and onsite training, providing apprentices with an agile, in-depth learning environment to help them achieve their required certificationThis comprehensive training program provides with all the tools they will need to work on our class-leading aircraft and join the ranks of our highly-skilled and experience maintenance teams.

Apprentices accepted into the program are immersed into a dynamic environment to develop and enhance their skills. The world-class London Biggin Hill Service Centre offers the best on-the-job training – a technologically advanced workplace environment to hone their skills for future career development. And there’s more good news – the program also provides the apprentices with the possibility for full-time employment at the facility upon graduation.

Bombardier is honoured to be working with key industry partners in the development of this initiative. Apprenticeship opportunities like these provide qualified students with an important pathway to an exciting aerospace career. It also creates a strong talent base for the future, a win-win for all.

Invaluable apprenticeship programs like this lay the foundation for the development of future generations of skilled workers, ensuring our customers always have the best, most effective and efficient service experience possible – it’s our ongoing commitment to you.

Sincerely,
