Aircraft equipped with the Bombardier aircraft health monitoring system (AHMS) STC can benefit from a feature that provides an automatic transfer of the aircraft data once the plane has landed.

Following the upload of the flight data to the Bombardier MyMaintenance (My MX) cloud based-software, operators can review the flight parameters and perform required analysis based on the operation type procedure.

It has been reported to Bombardier that sometimes, following a flight leg, the data is not available on the MyMaintenance portal.

After investigation, it was found that Smart Link AHMS data (bulk) transfer has a time delay in data completeness. In certain cases, this can cause the data to not be displayed on My MX right after the flight.

The reason for this is the fact that the trigger for forwarding data to the BA server is when the flight crew turns the engines off. Usually, the aircraft is powered off shortly after, before allowing sufficient time for the successful transfer of the flight data.

In such cases, the flight data would be re-sent by the AHMS at the next aircraft power up sequence.

However, to mitigate the data delay, Bombardier recommends the flight crew perform a cabin power cycle followed by a 15-minute power on. This will provide sufficient time for the AHMS to complete the data transfer to the My MX web portal.
