Challenger 600 Series aircraft improved stall system G-switch

Inertia Switch, manufacturer of the Challenger 600 series aircraft G-switch (P/N 604-59203-1), has made changes to the unit to improve its reliability.

Historically, operators have reported difficulties with installing this item. Due to the delicate nature of the product, the unit can be damaged if it is overheated while connecting wires are being solderedduring installation.

In response, Inertia Switch relocated a component within the unit, changed the internal wire pathways, and increased terminal strength to make the product less susceptible to overheating while wires are being soldered to the unit terminals.

The changes do not affect the functionality of the unit. The new units are identified with the same part number, starting at serial number 127849.

Older units in Bombardier’s inventory have been discarded and replaced with the improved design. There is no retrofit campaign to implement the improved unit. Operators ordering the G-switch P/N 604-59203-1 will receive the improved design.
