New software available for Collins Aerospace 4K VENUE Cabin Management System

By: Sebastien Desmitt, Technical Services Collins Aerospace recently released Vendor Service Bulletin (VSB) VENUE-44-23 CABIN SYSTEMS - VENUE™ SYSTEM SOFTWARE - BOMBARDIER GLOBAL VENUE CABIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (VCMS) 10.9.0
This new 4K VENUE Loadable Software Package (LSP), version 10.9.0, offers the following improvements:
Addresses the Display Electronics Unit (DEU) obsolescence. Software changes support DEU 441-2159-101
Artifacts eliminated during video source switching on 4K monitors
Resolves occurrence of blank screen on 4K monitors
Airshow time to arrival will now correctly update for all modes
LSP includes updated airshow time zone database in airshow app
Ability to update Airshow time zone database via service bulletin
Resolves occurrence of video flash observed while viewing video
Chinese characters now available in Kodi app
As instructed in VSB VENUE-44-23, operators shall contact Collins Aerospace to obtain a free USB flash drive containing VENUE LSP version 10.9.0. The VSB is available for download from either the Bombardier or Collins portal.
The in-service approval Modification Data Summary (MDS) engineering package “Cabin Management System - Software Update (CES & VENUE)” 700-44-RAZ049 is available on the Bombardier Customer Portal (Figure 1). The document included in that package can be used to provide a quick and cost-effective means of expediting improvements/modifications for aircraft in service.
