Effectivity: Learjet 31/31A, 35/35A, 36/36A, 55/55B/C,60 aircraft
ATA 23
Effective March 1, 2015, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required newly manufactured Underwater Locator Beacon (ULB) batteries to meet a minimum performance standard of 90 days for Flight Data Recorders (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR).
The manufacturers of the CVRs and FDRs approved for installation on Learjet aircraft have addressed these changes with service bulletins. These service bulletins will be performed by the manufacturer when units are returned for Underwater Locator Beacon (ULB) periodic maintenance/service or may be accomplished by customers in the field.
Bombardier will address the part number changes with revisions to the Illustrated Parts List (IPC) of the affected aircraft. Until the respective IPC is updated, A Reference Information Letter (RIL) has been published to the Customer Portal permitting the change to the ULB.
