In parallel to our article, “Update on Global series MMEL status” the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) announced its approval of Revision 10 for Global Express BD-700-1A10 and BD-700-1A11 aircraft, which was subsequently published by Bombardier.

Operators may still refer to our previous article published on Aug. 11, 2023, “Update on Global series MMEL status,” for other regulatory agencies’ latest Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) updates for the Bombardier Global series aircraft.

This latest revision, dated Aug. 10, 2023, was published on the Bombardier Customer Portal a few days later. As a result, the associated BD-700 Dispatch Deviation Guides (DDG) were also updated on Sept. 11, 2023, to reflect the latest EASA Revision 10.

For details on the changes, please refer to the MMEL record of revision section. Below are some of the included revisions:

  • M to O items. Opportunities were identified for 45 procedures which may be performed by the flight crew (O) allowing additional flexibility for dispatch in remote locations where maintenance (M) may not be available. This would prevent having to dispatch maintenance personnel on site to release the aircraft and allow continued operations. Most relate to procedures that require simple system deactivation.

  • AFDX Network Port Lock addition

  • 31-61-01 Display Units extension from category B (3 days) to C (10 days)

  • Pearl Engine TCCV FAULT CAS message relief (Global 55/6500)

  • IFIS Document Reader Function (Electronic reader function, for AFM, QRH, etc.) extension from category C to D (120 days)

  • New relief for AFD/ DCU/cabinets fans, Aircraft Personality Module (APM)

  • Support of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) Emergency Vision Assurance System (EVAS) (Cat D – 120 days)

  • Clerical correction to be consistent with the whole document and to be aligned with TCCA MMEL

Thank you for your valuable support – this exercise was based in part on your feedback.

The document is accessible through the Bombardier Customer Portal.
