Bombardier would like to inform operators of a recent change to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) catalog and upcoming changes to Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) Chapters 7 and 10 regarding nose and wing jack pads.
Both the 4507100104-001/-003 nose jack pads and 4507100101-003/-007 wing jack pads were added to the 28/29/31/35/36/60 AMMs as an alternate. These jack pads have an eyelet that can be used as a tie down (mooring). However, using the jack pads for mooring is only approved on Learjet 40/45/70/75 model aircraft. Learjet 31/35/36 models have mooring instructions in AMM 10-XX-XX (Parking and Mooring) but utilize landing gear, not jack pads.
The Learjet GSE catalog refers to these jack pads as applicable to all models with the note, “May be used for tie down on M45 only.” Forthcoming AMM revisions for non Learjet 40/45/70/75 models will include a note in the tools and equipment table restricting usage of these alternate jack pads for jacking only, not to be used as tie downs.
