Learjet 70/75 aircraft clarification of Cleaner Card usage

Operators of Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 aircraft should be aware that the use of the Cleaner Card and downloading of the Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) files are two separate tasks. The Cleaner Card should only be used on Garmin Phase IID+ and prior, and only for cleaning the internal memory of the Display Units (DUs).

It is recommended that operators clean the DUs at least monthly, or when the NAV Database is updated. The procedure for using the Cleaner Card can be found in the Learjet 75 Aircraft Maintenance Manual, chapter 45-45-09. Phase III and later aircraft should not run the Cleaner Card per Garmin recommendations as this functionality was built into the startup sequence of the DUs.
