Prevent tabletop damage by properly adjusting pull-out table mechanisms

Effectivity: Global Express/XRS, Global 6000 and Global 6500 aircraft

Operators, maintenance crew and flight attendants are advised that if a pull-out table is not well adjusted, it can deploy too quickly and too high.

This can damage the tabletop or the side ledge lid, as the tabletop can get caught under the side ledge lid when it deploys too quickly. On the other hand, certain pull-out tables might deploy too slowly, making it difficult to lift the tabletop from its housing.

Bombardier has created a guide to help technicians adjust pull-out table mechanisms so they will deploy at the right speed and height.

The guide covers all Enflite tables and is intended to support CMM M22500 – refer to your CMM that was provided at delivery.

Find the Troubleshooting Guide for Adjusting Pull-Out Tables on the Global Express, XRS, 6000 and 6500 aircraft on Smartfix Plus, under system description ATA 25-00-00 equipment/furnishing.

This guide gives instructions on:

  • Steps to deploy stowed tabletops

  • Accessing the pull-out tables

  • System description

  • Collar positioning

  • Reducing spring tension

  • Increasing spring tension

  • Testing the deploy height

  • Returning the tabletop to a stowed position

  • Flapper guide alignment

Note that the Global 5000, Global 5000 Vision, Global 5500 and Global 7500 aircraft have varied pull-out table mechanisms and they operate differently. Refer to your cabin handbook and appropriate CMM for details.

Should you have further questions about pull-out tables, please contact your local Bombardier Field Service Representative (FSR) or the Customer Response Centre (CRC).
