Repairing chafing damage on Challenger main landing gear door inner skin

Bombardier has received recent Service Requests for Product Support Action (SRPSA) concerning chafing damage on Challenger main landing gear (MLG) door inner skins at FS526.54 and BL48.175.  

This article reminds operators and maintenance crews that General Repair Engineering Order (GREO) 604-32-12-076 is available on the Bombardier Customer Portal. 

This GREO outlines the procedures to repair MLG door inner skins P/N 604-31178-13 (LH) and 604-31178-14 (RH). There are two repair options provided:  

  1. For blended damage 0.017” maximum of the 0.040” nominal thick skinBlend damage and restore the finish of reworked areas per A032 per SRM 51-01-04. 

  2. For blended damage depth exceeding 0.017” of the 0.040” nominal thick skinCut damage from skin, manufacture and install doubler and restore the finish of reworked areas per A032 per SRM 51-01-04.
