Update: Change to Challenger 350 CMS software ordering process

This is an update to a previous article. The software ordering process has been changed. 

Challenger 350 owners and operators are reminded that a new Lufthansa Technik (LHT) NiceHD Cabin Management System (CMS) software update is available. In December 2020, Bombardier released an LHT Engineering Bulletin (EB) to introduce a new CMS software built using the latest template. The Configuration Server Database (CSDB) for all Challenger 350 aircraft was built using Template 09. 

This EB SCDC3-EB44-0813 was released to update the CSDB to the latest template. Here are some of the benefits: 

• All maintenance fixes will be incorporated on the aircraft.  

• The latest Advanced Access Content System (AACS) keys will be installed. Having the latest available AACS keys installed in the Blu-ray player will allow playback of all recent Blu-ray releases. 

The EB is optional for all aircraft delivered with a CSDB not built with Template 09. The effectivity of the EB is 20425, 20501 to 20862. The prerequisite to the EB is the BA Service Bulletin 350-44-002 MODIFICATION - CABIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS) - SYSTEM CONFIGURATION DATABASE SOFTWARE UPDATE (introduction of CSDB Template 07). 

To obtain a copy of the software, an SRPSA should be submitted to Technical Services. The following information is required in the SRPSA:  

• Reference: EB SCDC3-EB44-0813 

• Software Part No. SCDC3−20XXX−09A 

• Aircraft Model and Serial No. 

• A corporate email address (preferably secure) where a software download hyperlink will be sent.
