This article is to inform maintenance personnel of the release of the updated Challenger 60X Troubleshooting Guide (Rev 2) through Advisory Wire 600-27-2335 Rev 2 “Flaps Fail” Troubleshooting Information.

We are pleased to announce that the updated Flap Troubleshooting Guide is now also available in our SmartFix Plus App under troubleshooting “Flap Fail” ATA 27 amber-coloured message.

The latest revision has new information and troubleshooting tips to help maintenance personnel better understand how to troubleshoot the flap system.

The best troubleshooting tool is still the Challenger 604/605/650 Flap on Board Recorder (FOBR) which can be installed per Service Bulletins: 604-27-035, 605-27-006 and 650-27-001.

The FOBR helps to quickly and precisely determine the cause of the flap issues and provides the following benefits:

• Improves dispatch availability in the event of a flap system issue

• Accurately identifies the location of a faulty electrical or mechanical component

• Reduces downtime for troubleshooting and resolving a flap issue

• Decreases component No Fault Found (NFF) rates

FOBR files can be analyzed by maintenance crews, Bombardier Customer Response Centre (CRC) or Technical Services using the software and FOBR Guide available at no charge from the Bombardier Customer Portal.
