Windshield rain repellent coating

GKN Aerospace is having trouble obtaining and supplying Surfex 100TM Rain Repellent kit, P/N 7137-V, for 40/45/70/75 GKN windshields. Tech Pubs will be adding Surfex 100TM  7759-V Re-Order Kit to all maintenance manuals as an alternate.  

Surfex 100TM Rain Repellent coating is applied to all GKN windshields during the manufacturing process. Per Maintenance Manual requirements, the rain removal coating effectiveness test is required every 12 months (Ref: 05-19-00, IRN W5600002). The detailed test procedure can be found in 56-10-01 with instructions for reapplication in the repairs section if the test results are not acceptable.   

Surfex 100TM Master Kit, P/N 7137-V, is listed as the kit required to reapply the coating. This kit includes all the necessary materials, including an instruction manual, to coat at least six (6) windshields, and comes housed in a sturdy, reusable case.   

Surfex 100TM Re-Order Kit, P/N 7759-V, will be added to the manual as a second option. This kit is identical to the 7137-V Master Kit, except it does not include the instruction manual and is not delivered in the reusable case.  Kit 7759-V is available through Parts Services and can be used on all GKN windshields installed in Learjet 40/45/70/75 aircraft.
