Ram Air Door Actuator (RADA) installation

After installing the Ram Air Door Actuator (RADA) task BD700-A-J36-11-19-00AAA-720A-A, a rigging procedure task BD700-A-J36-11-19-00AAA-275A-A is required. Although, in general, a safety cable is an equivalent means of a locking device, the jam nut shall be secured with lockwire MS20995C20 after a RADA installation/rigging is carried out.   

If a safety cable is installed, the end stud may contact the actuator end bushing when the shaft is fully retracted. 

The lefthand image is shown with a safety cable and the righthand image is shown with a regular lockwire.  

A note will be added to the Aircraft Maintenance Publication to use lockwire only. The revision is scheduled for July 22, 2022.
