Lear Jet 23-003 finds long-term home at Bombardier’s Wichita facility

Bombardier recently approved a long-term hosting agreement for Lear Jet 23-003, the first production Learjet delivered to a customer in 1964. The jet, which is currently being restored by the volunteer-driven Classic Lear Jet Foundation (CLJF), will reside at Bombardier’s Wichita, Kansas facility, formerly the site of Learjet Inc.

The historic jet has been in residence at the Bombardier facility since May 2023, while the long-term agreement was being finalized. During that time, the CLJF has hosted several events and showings to educate the public about the importance of this aircraft, while raising money for its restoration.

“The Classic Lear Jet Foundation is sincerely grateful to have Bombardier as our host during the restoration of this iconic aircraft that launched the business jet industry,” said Rick Rowe, CLJF’s Director of Public Relations.

The Classic Lear Jet Foundation is a non-profit IRS 501(c)(3) corporation. Donors can deduct contributions to CLJF under IRC Section 170. For more information contact Rick Rowe at rick.rowe@ClassicLear.org or at +1-316-305-5046.
