Bombardier is evaluating customer interest in a potential new avionics feature for in-service aircraft: the Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS). This safety enhancement tool is used by flight crews during approach and landing phases to prevent runway overruns. ROAAS is intended to provide timely and distinctive alerts to the flight crew when the airplane is at risk of not being able to stop on the available distance to the end of the runway.
